Agency Portfolio in Next.js: View Transitions and Web Animations, No 3D Library

How a concept design-studio site carries a mark between scenes with the Web Animations API and React's ViewTransition, with zero ghost copies and no animation library.

Colour-first shape carry

The reel's dominant mark is an HTML layer over the SVG board, driven by the Web Animations API (transform and colour, both compositor-friendly). The old version crossfaded two whole boards over 900 ms and double-exposed them; the carry replaced that, so nothing ghosts.

Card to case with View Transitions

Navigation from a card to its case uses React's ViewTransition, which the framework drives on route change. Browsers without the API cut instantly, so nothing breaks.

No animation or 3D library

CSS and IntersectionObserver only. Case frames are code-made SVG, each under 6 KB.
